Awesome New Footage In ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Rio Olympics TV Spot

While we anxiously await the brand new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, Disney and Lucasfilm have released a cool new TV spot for the highly anticipated movie, which made its debut during the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Unfortunately, the TV spot is mostly a remix of footage from the first trailer and athletes competing in the event, but there are a couple of never-before-seen shots here and there. We get to see Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) talking with someone (presumably Donnie Yen’s Chirrut Imwe), plus an awesome shot of the Death Troopers in action. It’s not much, but it’s more than enough to whet your appetite for the new trailer.

You can watch the new TV spot below.

Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire after The Great Jedi Purge, a wayward band of Rebel fighters comes together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the original Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor’s rule.

Starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Genevieve O’Reilly, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes to a galaxy near you on December 16, 2016. Are you excited?
