Rogue One: A Star Wars Story actor Donnie Yen revealed recently that he was approached by Zack Snyder to play a role in Aquaman.

Whilst promoting his now delayed Mulan, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Donnie Yen was asked if he would ever play a superhero. With superhero films so popular these days, Donnie Yen replied that he’d be interested in taking on a superhero film but it depend on the specific role he was being offered. The Star Wars star then revealed that he was actually approached by DC’s Zack Snyder to play a role in Aquaman.

In a recent video interview with IGN, which was posted on Reddit, Donnie Yen discussed how Zack Snyder discussed the possibility of the Star Wars taking on a role for Aquaman. However, the discussions couldn’t move forward as Donnie Yen revealed that he was already booked for another film.

Star Wars star Donnie Yen did follow up his statement by revealing that he is still “in talks and open for” joining a film. Unfortunately, there aren’t many details regarding what role Zack Snyder approached Donnie Yen for. That being said, it is safe to say that Zack Snyder probably approached Donnie Yen for the role of Vulko, as Vulko appeared in Justice League. Of course, James Wan later went on to film the solo Aquaman film, with Willem Dafoe gracefully performing the role of Vulko. Currently, Donnie Yen isn’t signed on for the upcoming Aquaman sequel, though he certainly would make a good addition to the film.
