Is Star Wars setting up a brand new trilogy? A Starfighter rumor suggests that the film may start a new era of storytelling- along with one big cameo.
There’s been a lot of questions about Star Wars: Starfighter ever since it was announced. Originally simply billed as the “Shawn Levy” Star Wars movie, the rumor mill has seemed to suggest that there is more to the project than let on. This not to mention that some major stars like Ryan Gosling have been recruited for the project- a rarity when it comes to leading roles in the galaxy far, far away.
However, all of this confusion may be for a reason. The latest rumor from MyTimeToShineHello suggests that Lucasfilm is teeing Star Wars: Starfighter up to be the first installment in a brand new trilogy. This would certainly be interesting if it was true, as it would be the first film in the entire Star Wars saga not led by a Skywalker (or, for that matter, a Jedi).
A Major Cameo In Star Wars: Starfighter
Yet that wasn’t the only rumor surrounding Star Wars: Starfighter. It’s also suggested that a major cameo will appear in the upcoming film, potentially serving to set up the aforementioned new trilogy. Perhaps the most common theory as to who this cameo might be is Daisy Ridley, as she served as the leading character for the last trilogy.
Though it’s important to consider that a “big cameo” doesn’t always mean a familiar character. It’s possible that Star Wars: Starfighter introduces a brand new character played by a major actor. While it’s obviously hard to predict a new character, it’s possible that a big name like Henry Cavill or Ryan Reynolds is tapped to play the leading villain in a new trilogy.
