‘Star Wars: ‘The Accolyte’ Rotten Tomatoes Score Officially Revealed

Is The Acolyte worthy?

Did The Acolyte live up to the hype? The Rotten Tomatoes score for the latest Star Wars series on Disney Plus has been revealed.

Ahead of its release, The Acolyte was one of the most anticipated projects coming to Disney Plus. The series was set to be a much grittier take on the Star Wars universe taking place a long, long time ago in the galaxy far, far away. However, with the first two episodes officially released, the project’s score on Rotten Tomatoes paints a slightly rocky picture.

The good news is, that The Acolyte did great with critics. As of writing, the series sits at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the third-highest score for any Star Wars project on Disney Plus, sitting just behind Andor at 96% and The Mandalorian at 90%. However, the show takes a hit with fans, scoring a dismal 31% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Star Wars’ Odd Relationship With Rotten Tomatoes

The concept of fans’ and critics’ scores on Rotten Tomatoes being different is far from revolutionary. However, Star Wars has always had an interesting relationship with the site, especially when it comes to its Disney Plus offerings.

For the most part, critics tend to be harsher than fans when it comes to their Rotten Tomatoes scores. But with Star Wars shows, critics often view the shows better than the fans, with The Acolyte just having the biggest disparity. It seems that, while the franchise continues to impress Disney Plus audiences, something alienates longtime viewers.
