The second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch concluded last month, leaving fans wondering if the team would ever be the same after Tech executed Plan 99. A recent announcement at Star Wars Celebration has revealed the defective clone troop will be returning next year for their third and final season.
Fans at the Star Wars Celebration were able to see exclusive footage of the upcoming final season. According to the official Star Wars website, the footage showcased Emperor Palpatine commending Dr. Royce Hemlock’s efforts in creating clones for the Empire. Fans also saw Omega and Crosshair, two clones who were taken into Imperial custody at the end of last season, with Omega insisting she won’t give up on Crosshair. The footage also featured a number of looks at returning characters outside of the Bad Batch, including that of Captain Rex and Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand.
The Bad Batch follows the elite group of Clone Force 99 who rebel from the Empire in the aftermath of Order 66. The show follows the clones Hunter, Wrecker, Echo, Tech and Crosshair, all voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, as well as Omega, played by Michelle Ang, who is an unaltered female clone, as they attempt to find their way in the galaxy still reeling from the Clone War.
When Will ‘The Bad Batch’ Return?
Star Wars: The Bad Batch was renewed for its third and final season at Disney’s 2023 Star Wars Day Celebration. The season is confirmed to release sometime in 2024, though no official date has been given. Here is the synopsis for Star Wars: The Bad Batch:
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch — a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill, which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.
The animated series is executive produced by Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett, with Carrie Beck as co-executive producer and Josh Rimes as producer. Rau is also serving as supervising director, with Corbett as head writer. Dee Bradley Baker is behind the voices of Clone Force 99, and Michelle Ang is the voice of Omega.
