Early designs for Keri Russell’s Zorii Bliss from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker have been revealed.

While Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker may have been the final film in the mainline Star Wars saga, it saw the introduction of some cool new characters to the galaxy far, far away. One of the characters introduced in the film was Zorii Bliss, a spice runner who has shared a mysterious past with Poe Dameron. Zorii Bliss was accompanied by fan favorite Babu Frik, the little creature who contested Baby Yoda in cuteness.

Despite being a late addition to the Star Wars universe, Zorii Bliss has one of the coolest costume designs in the sequel trilogy, easily rivaling Kylo Ren’s outfits. With a golden helmet that echoed the Xenomorph’s design and a slick red suit, Bliss definitely had one of the most inspired suits in the film. Early designs for the character were revealed in The Art of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which hit store shelves earlier this year. In the art book, fans can find early designs for some of the film’s most beloved characters.

Some of Zorii Bliss’ early designs from the art book were posted on Twitter by artist Calum Alexander Watt. They show different, early takes on the character’s design, as well as discussing some of the logic behind some of the visual choices. You can check them out below.
