TV Insider reports that Brian Stapf has been cast as Justice Society hero Wildcat in DC Universe’s Stargirl.
Brian Stapf, whose previous credits include roles on The Walking Dead and House of Cards, joins the cast of Stargirl in the recurring role of Ted Grant, the true identity of Wildcat. In comics, Wildcat is one of the founding members of the Justice Society of America and the series will follow the source material by having Ted Grant be a former heavyweight boxer.
Brian Stapf has also worked as a stunt performer, which will undoubtedly help him with this new role.

High school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.
Stargirl stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitemore and Joel McHale as Starman with Anjelika Washington, Yvette Monreal, and Christopher James in undisclosed roles. Geoff Johns will write and executive produce the 13-episode first season of Stargirl. Sarah Schechter and Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti will also serve as executive producers on the series.
Stargirl is scheduled to debut on DC Universe in August 2019.
