What to expect from the Wonder Man series on Disney Plus

Wonder Man, also known as Simon Williams, is a superhero from the Marvel Comics universe with a unique backstory. Created by Stan Lee and Don Heck in 1964, Wonder Man was originally a successful businessman who underwent a dangerous experiment to gain superhuman powers. However, his powers came with a weakness to ionic energy, making him vulnerable to attacks from other ionic-powered beings.

Wonder Man has been a member of several superhero teams, including the Avengers and the West Coast Avengers. He has also had a complicated romantic relationship with the Scarlet Witch. Marvel’s Disney Plus series is expected to delve deep into Wonder Man’s complex history and personality, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen) bringing the character to life for his live-action debut

Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-NineCommunity) is leading the writing team of the Wonder Man series, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings helmer Destin Daniel Cretton on board as an executive producer. Cretton is also expected to direct an unspecified number of episodes before moving on to the yet-to-be titled Shang-Chi sequel and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
