In honor of the final San Diego Comic-Con appearance for The CW’s DC Comics series Arrow starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, it was announced that Russian Doll actor Charlie Barnett portrays John Diggle Jr. as the latest series regular.
During the final season of Arrow, John Diggle Jr. goes by J.J. and is the Flashpoint-born son of John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson). Charlie Barnett will be introduced as J.J. in the future as the leader of the Deathstroke gang. J.J. will have a scuffle with Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara) and his adoptive brother Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones).
Charlie Barnett recently appeared in Netflix’s critically-acclaimed comedy Russian Doll alongside series co-creator Natasha Lyonne. The series is currently nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Lyonne) and two nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

As the Green Arrow, Oliver successfully saved his city with the help of his team including former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), former protégé Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) and Earth-2 Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). In the wake of discovering what his future holds, Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance.
