Stephen Amell’s ‘Arrow’ Adds ‘Russian Doll’ Star Charlie Barnett As John Diggle Jr.

In honor of the final San Diego Comic-Con appearance for The CW’s DC Comics series Arrow starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, it was announced that Russian Doll actor Charlie Barnett portrays John Diggle Jr. as the latest series regular.

During the final season of Arrow, John Diggle Jr. goes by J.J. and is the Flashpoint-born son of John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Michaels (Audrey Marie Anderson). Charlie Barnett will be introduced as J.J. in the future as the leader of the Deathstroke gang. J.J. will have a scuffle with Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara) and his adoptive brother Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones).

Charlie Barnett recently appeared in Netflix’s critically-acclaimed comedy Russian Doll alongside series co-creator Natasha Lyonne. The series is currently nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Lyonne) and two nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

As the Green Arrow, Oliver successfully saved his city with the help of his team including former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), former protégé Roy Harper (Colton Haynes), street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez), metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum) and Earth-2 Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). In the wake of discovering what his future holds, Oliver will find himself pit against his most challenging battle yet, one that will leave the multiverse hanging in the balance. In Arrow’s final season, Oliver Queen is forced to confront the reality of what it means to be a hero.

The Witcher Henry CavillNetflix has released a brand new poster for the Henry Cavill series The Witcher along with a slew of first look photos.

A stunning poster for the upcoming Netflix series The Witcher made its debut this morning, featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. In addition, Netflix also dropped the first official photos of Anya Cholatra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri as well as two more stills that offer fans a fresh look at Geralt.

The Witcher Poster Netflix Henry Cavill

Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’s The Witcher will follow the monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich will also serve as an executive producer on the series while Alik Sakharov, Alex Garcia Lopez and Charlotte Brändström are on board as directors for the eight-episode first season.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.
