Suicide Squad director David Ayer explained why his “heart breaks” for Joker actor Jared Leto.
When Suicide Squad debuted in theaters over three years ago, some of the most common criticisms were directed towards Jared Leto’s incarnation of the Joker. Not only were many fans unimpressed with the new look for the character, but many were critical of Jared Leto’s performance as the Clown Prince of Crime.
Now, Suicide Squad director David Ayer’s has responded to a fan’s comment on the matter by stating that his heart breaks for Jared Leto, whom the filmmaker says did magnificent work as the Joker. Furthermore, David Ayer noted that most of Jared Leto’s take on the Joker remains unseen, indicating much of the footage was cut from the final version of the film.
