Suicide Squad director David Ayer has confirmed which of the Robins that Joker killed before the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Since the announcement that Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League would be made available on HBO Max, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has been a bit more open about the original plan for the DC Extended Universe. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we notably saw a Robin suit that heavily implied that the Boy Wonder had been killed by the Joker. This was eventually confirmed in Suicide Squad but there was some questions as to which Robin it was.
The popular theory was that the Robin who was killed by the Joker was Jason Todd. Jason Todd was killed by the Joker in the Death in the Family storyline after The Clown Prince of Crime repeatedly beat him with a crowbar before blowing him up. As it turned out, however, the fans had it wrong.
During a recent Twitter exchange, Suicide Squad director David Ayer confirmed that it was, in fact, Dick Grayson who was killed by Joker and not Jason Todd:
What is confusing? Joker killed Dick Greyson. That was Zack’s original intent. https://t.co/pKqx16Spln

Here is the synopsis for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad:
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Written and directed by David Ayer, the film stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, and Scott Eastwood.
Suicide Squad is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the DC Extended Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more great video content!
