Fans finally have their first look at Supergirl! James Gunn reveals the first footage of Milly Alcock in her solo outing for the DC Universe.
With the first trailer for Supergirl releasing in less than 24 hours, fans have been chewing the edge of their seat awaiting their chance to see Milly Alcock back in action. Though it seems James Gunn is more than willing to cut to the chase. The director revealed the first public footage of the upcoming movie on his social media, teasing a much different corner of the DC Universe.
This footage paints Supergirl in a much different light than Superman. Literally. The color grading for Milly Alcock’s blockbuster alone is far different than anything fans have seen out of the DC Universe so far. This not to mention the alien vistas seen in the footage, proving that James Gunn was serious in letting each film stand on its own.
Supergirl’s Otherworldy Journey
Though Milly Alcock isn’t the only DC Universe hero seen in the footage. James Gunn has also introduced the world to Ruthye, Supergirl’s companion in the Woman of Tomorrow comic who holds a key connection to the film’s antagonist (Which, for those who haven’t read the source material, we won’t be spoiling here).
Interestingly, Milly Alcock seems to be wearing her Supergirl suit in every shot seen in this footage. This contradicts earlier reports that suggested she would be in civilian clothes for the majority of the DC Universe film. Though, given her very prominent jacket, it may very likely be a mix of the two.
