Is Supergirl going to be comic-accurate? The latest rumor reveals some changes to the film’s cast and how Lobo will be adapted to the silver screen.
Supergirl has a lot of momentum in its favor right now. The DC Universe is riding on an all-time high thanks to Superman and Peacemaker. This not even to mention the film’s all-star cast, which includes finally giving Jason Momoa the chance to play Lobo.
However, despite how excited fans are to see Supergirl when it flies into theaters next year, details about the project have been kept under a tight lock and key. Almost no set photos leaked, leaving fans lost on how the cosmic side of the DC Universe will look. And the few videos that did leak only showed grainy footage of the eponymous heroine and a blurry figure some fans think might be Lobo.
Supergirl Makes Some Major Changes
It seems some of that secrecy may have been in service of hiding some major surprises from Supergirl fans. A rumor from MyTimeToShineHello shed some light on how certain members of the cast may change when adapted to the big screen. Notably, Ruthye is said to be “dressed in a green coat with a fur-lined hood, black pants, brown boots,” a major departure from her comic garb, and Krem is described as having “a more monstrous look than in the comics.”
Though before fans worry too much about this rumor, it seems as though not the WHOLE cast will be going through changes. The leaker also remarks that Lobo will be “very comic accurate” in Supergirl. This is a relief, as it’s not a liberty Lobo always gets- even in the comics. So while the movie may still be months away, things are still looking up for the Woman of Tomorrow!
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
