Is Milly Alcock about to take the DC Universe to a brand new level? A report suggests that the Supergirl actress may give a career defining performance in the new film.
Supergirl is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated movies of next year. It’s a good sign, given that the fate of the DC Universe may truly rest on the shoulders of Craig Gillespie, Ana Nogueira, and Milly Alcock. It’s the first project in the franchise not helmed by James Gunn, meaning it’s a true “make or break” moment for if the IP can stand on its own.
Early reports on the project have been relatively mixed. There’s a lot of praise for the cinematography and performances of people like Jason Momoa’s Lobo, even if he doesn’t share TOO many scenes with Milly Alcock’s heroine. However, Supergirl seems to be bringing the first weak villain to the DC Universe with Krem of the Yellow Hills. This is something that can’t exactly be remedied in reshoots given the actor was recently sentenced to six months of prison in Belgium.
Milly Alcock Defines The DC Universe
Luckily, it seems as though one thing stands above everything else in these early reports: Milly Alcock. The most common thread in reports from those with ears on the ground is that the actress does a phenomenal job as Supergirl. One post by known scooper ViewerAnon, compares her work in the DC Universe to that of Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in the MCU.
I’ve been careful not to talk about SUPERGIRL as I don’t want to spoil anything, but I did want to say there is one consistent thing I’ve heard over and over again: Milly Alcock is FANTASTIC, like Robert Downey Jr/Chris Evans You-Can-Build-a-Whole-Universe-Around-Her great.

There was once a time where Supergirl was as big a part of the DC Universe as people like Superman. However, her popularity has largely (but not completely) fallen off in recent years in lieu of characters like Superboy. It’s possible that Milly Alcock’s performance can help revitalize the character, not just on the silver screen, but across all comics.
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
