Wonder Woman finally has its writer! TheWrap reports that Ana Nogueira, who previously wrote DC’s Supergirl and Teen Titans movies, is now attached to the DC Universe reboot.
There’s been a lot of talk in recent days about Wonder Woman’s place in the DC Universe. The character is one of the three pillars of the franchise. However, unlike Batman and Superman, there have been no details about when she’ll be getting her own reboot. Though with the success of Superman at the box office, reports suggest that the project is getting fast-tracked by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Whatever one believes of those reports, there’s no denying that progress is now being made on the reboot. Wonder Woman has officially found its writer in Ana Nogueira. She has quickly become a known quantity in the studio, having previously written both Supergirl and Teen Titans scripts for the DC Universe, despite having only one previous short film to her name.
The Story Of The Wonder Woman Reboot
Currently, there’s no word on what the story of Wonder Woman might be. However, given how the reboot would likely want to make itself different from the last iteration of the character, it’s likely that Ana Nogueira will set the film in the modern day of the DC Universe. Which, while it’s not much, certainly narrows down the possibilities.
The most likely story for the Wonder Woman reboot would be a high-fantasy project set on Themyscira. This not only matches Ana Nogueira’s history with projects like Supergirl, but also the current direction the DC Universe is taking with the Amazons. The only other Wonder Woman project fans are aware of, Paradise Lost, is set to lean heavily into the mystical island for its story.
