They’re throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Supergirl! The latest test screening report suggests the movie will get a new ending and a new Superman cameo.
It seems as though every test screening for Supergirl comes with a shot of vinegar. For every bit of praise Milly Alcock gets as the heroine, things like the action scenes and villain get painted in a worse and worse light. Not to mention how much has changed about the project, from Superman’s role to the constantly shifting ending.
That ending hasn’t stopped shifting either. Scooper Cryptic4KQual confirmed that the most recent test screening does, in fact, have a different ending – making this the third ending that has been screened for Supergirl across eight test screenings. However, it seems as if the ending isn’t the only part of the movie that has undergone substantial changes.
Superman’s Role In Supergirl
Even the earliest reports about Supergirl have involved Superman. However, those early scoops suggested that the Man of Steel wouldn’t be more than a brief cameo, likely right at the end. This seems to have changed, at least according to scooper MyTimeToShineHello, who reveals that Superman has at least two more scenes in the upcoming film.
“More scenes with Superman were added to Supergirl. Now he also [FaceTimes] her and shows up at the end of the movie.”
Of course, with two months until the film has to be golden, it’s likely that the DC Universe team is going to continue tinkering with the ending and what role Superman plays in the final version. Quite a bit is riding on Supergirl, so it’s possible that even a minor flop could completely derail DC’s plans for the future.
Supergirl is set to release on June 26, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
