Is Superman the key to Supergirl? The latest test screening report for the DC Universe film reveals how much of the film David Corenswet appears in.
It’s a bit of an open secret at this point that David Corenswet will make some kind of appearance in Supergirl. However, with the rumor mill for the DC Universe mostly focused on Man of Tomorrow, there hasn’t been too much revealed about what role he’ll have in the film, leaving many to think that he may be a glorified cameo like Milly Alcock was in Superman.
Yet that may not be exactly true. Warner Bros. Discovery is currently doing test screenings for Supergirl, with reports finding their way onto the net. The latest comes from the Youtube channel AxelTalksFilm, who revealed that Superman will have more than just a cameo in the film. Rather, David Corenswet’s hero will be a core part of Supergirl’s journey in the DC Universe film.
“It sounds like it’s more than just a cameo, with him having reportedly at least three scenes in the movie…Supposedly they’ve very important to Kara’s character development, so he’s not there just to be there.”
Superman’s Role In Supergirl
Given the most emotional parts of the Supergirl trailers have been focused on her history, specifically when it comes to Krypton, it shouldn’t be shocking that Superman is going to play a key role in the character’s development. It’s likely that David Corenswet will appear as a small cameo at the start of the film, as inspiration during the heroine’s lowpoint, and finally fly off with Kara and Krypto in the final moments of the movie.
It’s also likely that Supergirl will lay the groundwork for future projects in the DC Universe featuring the cousins. It’s almost certain that Milly Alcock will return in Man of Tomorrow, so it would make sense to use David Corenswet in this film to establish their dynamic leading into the upcoming crossover project.
