Arrow star Stephen Amell has revealed Superman’s black suit in a behind-the-scenes photo from the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event.
Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role as Superman in the CW’s upcoming Arrowverse crossover titled Elseworlds, which is currently in production. Now, Stephen Amell has shared a behind-the-scenes photo featuring himself, Grant Gustin, and Hoechlin as Superman in a black costume, not unlike the dark suit he wore in the comics.
Details on why Superman will don a black costume for the crossover event are currently unknown, though fans will remember the iconic suit as one of the outfits the DC hero wore following his resurrection in the comics.

The upcoming Elseworlds crossover will find Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl visiting Gotham City after learning about the machinations of an Arkham Asylum doctor. The event will mark the introduction of Ruby Rose as Batwoman and the first appearance of Gotham City in the Arrowverse. Superman will also appear in the crossover, with Tyler Hoechlin reprising the role from Supergirl, and Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch will portray Lois Lane in the character’s Arrowverse debut.
The 2018 Elseworlds crossover event starts with a special episode of The Flash on Sunday, December 9 and continues with Arrow on Monday, December 10. The three-night event will then conclude with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11.
All three entries will air at 8:00 p.m. ET on their respective nights.
