Concept art for the DC Universe is finally hitting the net! Fans now have their first look at early visualizations of David Corenswet’s Superman suit.
Concept art is often one of the most fascinating parts of a superhero film. Especially given the MCU’s “Marvel Method”, which puts films into production before a script is even finished, there’s often a lot of gems to be seen left on the cutting room floor. However, the DC Universe has been lacking in concept art in recent years. Mostly since, frankly, audiences haven’t cared enough about a project for the studio to release any.
Yet with Superman shattering all box office expectations and the DC Universe now back front-and-center in the mainstream, concept art has started hitting the web before the film can even leave theaters! The first piece came from concept artist Constantine Sekeris on Instagram, who gave fans an early look at David Corenswet’s suit as the Man of Steel.

Admittedly, this concept art isn’t too divergent from that which was seen on the screen. The colors are a bit more saturated, but otherwise it seemed to remain faithful to the visualization. Of course, this likely wasn’t the only mock-up produced for Superman. It’s likely dozens of costumes were drawn up for David Corenswet to potentially wear in the DC Universe, this was just the one more relevant to share with audiences.
David Corenswet isn’t the only actor fans are hoping to see concept art of from Superman. There were so many characters from the DC Universe that appeared in the film- from Green Lantern to Sydney Happersen. To see how these characters evolved through the visualization phase would be endlessly fascinating. Which likely means an art book will be on sale in a few months to capitalize off this fervor!
