Fans can finally see the fine details of Ultraman’s suit! The latest concept art for Superman gives fans a new look at the film’s surprisingly deep villain.
Superman is winding down its time at the box office. Concept art for the film has slowly begun to trickle out as a last push to get fans in theaters, either for the first or fifth time. However, despite this, DC Studios is still holding Ultraman close to their chest. Despite being one of the principal villains of the film, nothing more than a single poster of him has been officially showcased.
This changed in the most recent batch of concept art put out by Constantine Sekeris, who has been posting quite a bit of Superman concept art on his Instagram. While the art doesn’t reveal anything new about Ultraman to fans, it does give them a clear look at what the suit is supposed to look like up close. Perhaps the most interesting detail of this being the mask, which has quite a bit of texture that likely went unnoticed in the final film.
The Future Of Ultraman After Superman
As beautiful as this concept art is, it’s likely the last official piece of media fans will be getting of Ultraman’s suit. By the end of Superman, the villain ends up sucked into a black hole. And while it’s not likely that the character is dead (with many speculating he’ll return as Bizarro in future installments), it’s unlikely that any potential return will also feature the Ultraman suit.
Interestingly, the concept art does emphasize the purple color palette that many fans were unsure about during the lead up to Superman. Given Bizarro is often depicted with a purple motif, it’s possible that this confirms a potential link between the characters. Perhaps, wherever Ultraman ends up, he’ll use the scraps of his suit to build a new heroic moniker.
