Fans finally have their first look at the Daily Planet! A new set video from the production of Superman puts fans on the streets of the new DC Universe.
As the production of Superman starts to enter more liveable parts of the planet, leaks have become exponentially more common. The newest set video to hit the net is no exception. With the project soon set to film in Cleveland, Ohio, the streets of the city have been turned into the DC Universe, complete with the first official look at the Daily Planet logo.
The serif font used for the Daily Planet logo is surprisingly fresh. Despite James Gunn’s love for the Richard Donner Superman films, this particular set video shows off text more reminiscent of the comics than any prior live-action incarnation of the DC Universe.
The Daily Planet Gets Their Scoop
Like many other pieces of Superman media, the Daily Planet is set to be a big part of James Gunn’s take on the character. This logo is far from the first piece of information fans have gotten about the paper. Mostly since the film’s three main characters, David Corenswet’s Superman, Rahcel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane, and Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen, all work there!
The Daily Planet crew doesn’t just stop at the main cast. James Gunn has cast a number of supporting reporters in Superman. This includes Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Chris McDonald as Ron Troupe, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, and Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard. This doesn’t even include the larger heroes of the DC Universe set to debut in the film!
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
