Superman has had one of the most interesting production cycles of any DC Universe film to date. It’s been filled with exciting set leaks, heartbreaking tragedies, and a metric ton of hype from all across the internet. Yet as filming on the project finally finishes, the movie’s star David Corenswet has taken a sweet victory lap with a much needed brownie!
The internet has latched onto this video, as the internet tends the do, calling it the most compelling piece of evidence yet that David Corenswet is the perfect Superman for the DC Universe. Even without saying a word, much of the online world has found him to be gracefully charming in this video. And his co-stars seem to agree!
Isabela Merced Sings David Corenswet’s Praises
While the internet took a while to warm up to David Corenswet as Superman, the same couldn’t be said for the rest of the cast of his DC Universe debut. It seems every actor could immediately tell how perfect Corenswet was for the role, including Hawkgirl’s actress Isabela Merced, who recent called him an angel in a talk with ScreenRant.
“That man is an angel,” Merced explained. “He is very much Superman, he very much has that energy, and I admired working with him. His patience is incredible with his little tight suit in those hot days! I mean, he never complained once.”
“I’ve been very lucky to work with people like him and Cailee [Spaeny in Alien: Romulus] whose professionalism is just so inspiring. You just go, ‘I can’t complain for s–t.’ They’re doing so much more work and have so much pressure on their backs, yet they handle it with such ease. That was really cool to watch.”
It’s a relief to hear that David Corenswet is beloved by more than just people on the internet who’ve never met him. In a world where so often stars’ personas conflict with what they play on screen, the DC Universe has a massive win under their belt by getting an actor who truly embodies the qualities of Superman.
