The Passage star Emmanuelle Chriqui joins the cast of Superman & Lois as Lana Lang.
The CW’s Arrowverse will expand with the arrival of a new series titled Superman & Lois, which centers on Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch’s incarnation of the iconic DC Comics duo. Having been given a straight-to-series order back in January, Superman & Lois is scheduled to go straight into series production after the coronavirus pandemic forced all pilot filming to be suspended.
Now, Deadline reports that Emmanuelle Chriqui has joined the cast of Superman & Lois in the series regular role of Lana Lang. Traditionally, Lana Lang is depicted as Clark Kent’s love interest during his high school years and has previously been portrayed by Kristin Kreuk in Smallville, Annette O’Toole in Superman III, and many more.
Emmanuelle Chriqui’s incarnation of the character will be named Lana Lang-Cushing and is described as a loan officer at Smallville Bank who stayed in the small town while others left for bigger and brighter things. In Superman & Lois, Emmanuelle Chriqui’s Lana Lang will establish her friendship with Clark Kent during a difficult period of her life.
Full details on The CW‘s Superman & Lois are under wraps for the time being, but the series is described as revolving “around the world’s most famous superhero and comics’ most famous journalist [as they] deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.” In addition to Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lane, the series stars Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin as their sons, Dylan Walsh as General Sam Lane, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang. Written by The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing, Superman & Lois will be executive produced by Helbing, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Geoff Johns.
