Fans finally get their first look at Metamorpho! A new piece of Superman merch has unveiled Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho design for the DC Universe.
A lot of ink has been spilled about Superman links and thoughts about the other heroes of the DC Universe making their debut in the film. However, one character surprisingly absent from the discussion was Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho. This was likely because, due to the hero’s body likely being made out of CGI, the actor wasn’t on set for people to see his costume or speculate about his role in certain scenes.
Luckily, as merch for Superman gets leaked out into the world, fans get their first looks at the film’s characters. This includes Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, whose design in the DC Universe was unveiled on a novelty mug featuring the project’s cast. The first look can be seen below, along with a new look at Hawkgirl with her rings, Guy Gardner, The Engineer, Jimmy Olsen, and who may end up being Lex Luthor’s personal assistant Eve Teschmacher.
Metamorpho’s Role In The DC Universe
Even though he hasn’t been seen alongside them, many assume that Anthony Carrigan’s Metamorpho will be a member of the Maxwell Lord-sponsored super team made up of Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific. Much of this speculation is due to the character’s role in The Terrifics comic, which serves as a similar team to the one making its debut in Superman for the DC Universe.
Stretching beyond Superman, there are a number of projects Anthony Carrigan could appear in across the DC Universe. Ignoring the potential for a film based around The Terrifics, Metamorpho has been a member of dozens of comic book teams. This includes The Outsiders, Doom Patrol, and even the Justice League, leaving the possibilities nearly as endless as his shapeshifting abilities.
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
