The promotional campaign for Superman is officially underway, with a new image of David Corenswet as the Last Son of Krypton.

USA Today has released a new image of David Corenswet as Superman, showing the actor from the chest up in his full Man of Steel costume. The shot highlights David Corenswet’s Superman from the chest up, with the actor looking off-screen and perfectly capturing the character’s classic hair and heroic demeanor.

The fresh Superman image is part of a larger USA Today feature previewing the major movie releases of 2025. Superman is set to hit theaters this Summer, marking a key moment for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s reimagined DC Universe.

The Superman trailer dominated online conversations as James Gunn and Peter Safran prepare to launch the DC Universe on the big screen. Following the release of the animated series Creature Commandos on Max, Superman is poised to set the tone for the reimagined cinematic universe in his first cinematic solo outing since 2013’s Man of Steel.

What to expect from James Gunn’s Superman movie

Corenswet steps into the role of Superman, taking over from Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe. Rachel Brosnahan joins him as Lois Lane, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. James Gunn, known for his distinct blend of humor and emotion in superhero projects like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, writes and directs the film.

Superman is a much-anticipated project, given that Clark Kent has been an integral part of the DC Universe for over 80 years, with various iterations and adaptations across different media. The movie promises to explore the character’s origins and his struggles to balance his dual identities as Clark and Superman while fighting off villains and saving the world.

Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates as the DC Universe continues to unfold.
