After two agonizingly long years, the time DC fans have been waiting for is finally here. The first trailer for Superman has officially been released. Up until now, only two official images from the film have been released by James Gunn, featuring David Corenswet as the titular hero. Now, not only do fans get to see the actor in action, but they also get their first look at the many other iconic characters lining the supporting cast.
In addition to David Corenswet, Superman also includes Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicolas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Sara Sampaio As Eve Teschmacher. What Is The Plot Of James Gunn’s Superman?
While the trailer gives fans some insight into the conflict that David Corenswet will face as the Man of Steel, the deeper thematic core of Superman has been known for quite some time. James Gunn has made it clear that the DC Universe’s inaugural film will focus on Clark Kent reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with his life on Earth. However, the filmmaker has made it clear that the project will not serve as an origin story for the character.

This is most obvious with David Corenswet, who absolutely fills his Superman suit to the brim in every scene he’s in.
