Is Ultraman headed to the DCU?

Could Ultraman actually be the main villain of Superman? A new batch of set photos reveal the Man of Steel saving a civilian in what appears to be a new suit.

It’s clear James Gunn is putting a large focus on saving people in his upcoming Superman reboot. The set is littered with newspapers showing the heroes exploits. Now, fans get to see them in action. The newest batch of set photos show of David Corenswet’s Man of Steel saving a little girl.

This seems to be a touching moment by James Gunn showing the humanity of David Corenswet’s Superman. The Man of Steel is even rocking a new suit closer to the one from the official reveal! However, the more these set photos circulate, the more fans have begun to smell an Ultraman-sized conspiracy brewing on the set of the film.

Is Ultraman Saving The Day In Superman?

The first things that stood out to fans was that this was definitely a different suit than the one David Corenswet had worn in previous set photos. The color is darker, even when dirt and debris is taken into account, and the collar of the suit is all wrong. Why would James Gunn make such a big change in such a pivotal scene for Superman?

That’s because fans speculate that David Corenswet isn’t playing Superman in these set photos. Rather, he’s playing Ultraman. Whether this scene shows Ultraman turning good or on the brink of corruption isn’t clear. However, if fans are right, it’s certain something stomach churning is brewing in these moments.

Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
