‘Superman’ Stuntman Injured During High-Speed Action Sequence

An accident on the set of Superman!

James Gunn Superman Legacy

It seems not even Superman can ensure a flawless production! A new report reveals a stuntman has been injured during the filming of a high-speed chase for the DC film.

Production on Superman seems to be moving fast through the city of Cleveland. Quite literally, in this case, as the DC film recently filmed a chase sequence on the Detroit-Superior Bridge. The scene seemingly revolved around a car trying to avoid a collision with a speeding motorcycle.

While rehearsal for the sequence went off without a hitch, the stuntman driving the motorcycle took a spill when performing the actual scene. Footage shows the man clutching his knee as the Superman crew cut the cameras. According to a report by Cleveland.com, the stuntman was treated on the scene before being taken away from the DC production in an ambulance.

DC’s History Of Injured Cast And Crew

Superman is far from the only action film where a stuntman suffered an injury. In fact, DC seems to have a history with accidents happening during their productions. Back during the production of The Dark Knight,  stunt technician Conway Wickliffe tragically passed during rehearsal for a stunt involving the batmobile.

Though perhaps the most infamous example of injuries on a DC set comes from Batwoman. In 2019, Ruby Rose was severely injured while performing a stunt. She was forced to have an emergency surgery, coming away from the accident with two herniated discs and a nearly severed spinal cord. On separate occasions, a crew member suffered third degree burns across their body, and a PA was left paralyzed following an accident with a lift bucket.

Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
