Is the Kaiju going to be taken down for good? A toy commercial for Superman suggests that the character may have quite a brutal fatality in the film.
Aside from Superman himself, one of the most iconic parts of the marketing for the upcoming Superman film is the Kaiju. It’s one of the first times (at least, in recent memory) that fans have seen the world of giant monsters collide with men in tights on the silver screen. It’s a combination that’s sure to remind anyone of their favorite monster toy that got combined with their action figures when they were growing up.
Yet this novel (yet classic) villain has left many fans pondering how the character will be defeated. After all, it’s not as if Superman can just slap some cuffs on the Kaiju and take him to Rykers. There’s been a lot of theories about how the character could be taken down: from distracting it with a giant chew toy, to shrinking it down. There’s even a theory from one Redditor that the monster is Jimmy Olsen, and Superman has to rip the character’s body out from inside its Kaiju shell.
What Happens To The Kaiju In Superman?
Sadly for fans of the Kaiju, it seems as though James Gunn has something more…goopy in mind. A toy commercial for Superman shows off the Kaiju getting defeated via his gut busting open, with blue goop exploding out into the streets below. While toy commercials are far from the most reliable source for plot points on the film, it’s very possible that this action feature was modeled so kids could recreate the moment from the upcoming project.

The toy commercial, notably, also gives fans a look at how the fight is expected to start. It seems as though the Kaiju will be facing off against the Justice Gang when they first appear. After besting them in combat, Superman appears to save the day, ultimately punching the beast hard enough to cause it to explode!
Superman is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
