Swamp Thing has added Ian Ziering as the DC Comics hero named Blue Devil.
Sharknado star Ian Ziering joins the cast of Swamp Thing as a recurring guest star and the Beverly Hills, 90201 alum has been tasked with bringing DC Comics’ Blue Devil to life. The series officially describes the characters as follows:
Stuntman turned movie star, Daniel Cassidy became semi-famous after playing the demonic Blue Devil. But now, eight years later, Cassidy finds himself living out his days in frustration, pining for his former fame while on a collision course with destiny.
In the comics, Blue Devil is known for fighting occult evil.

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Maria Sten as Liz, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, Jennifer Beals as an original character created for the series, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue, and Derek Mears as the titular creature.
Aquaman director James Wan will serve as an executive producer on the series alongside Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear, and Len Wiseman. The first episode will be written by Verheiden and Dauberman while Wiseman will direct.
Swamp Thing will be available exclusively on DC Universe in 2019.

New ‘Aquaman’ Movie-Themed Comic Variant Covers Spotlight Arthur & Mera
DC Comics has unveiled the Aquaman movie-themed variant covers for the highly-anticipated Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth crossover event.
DC Comics' Justice League and Aquaman series' will soon crossover for a story arc titled Drowned Earth and the publishing giant is releasing variant covers based on Warner Bros.' upcoming film about the King of Atlantis to commemorate the event. Now, six variant covers featuring Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry and Amber Heard's Mera have been released online with illustrations from artists Francis Manapul, Francesco Mattina, Lucio Parillo, Ben Oliver, Dale Keown, and Nicola Scott.
