That Hashtag Show reports that Kevin Durand is in talks to play a recurring villain in DC Universe’s Swamp Thing series.
With Swamp Thing scheduled to begin production soon, The Strain star Kevin Duran is reportedly in negotiations to the villain known as Jason Woodrue, a.k.a The Floronic Man, in the DC Universe series. In the comics, Woodrue in an exiled interdimensional being who uses his advanced botanical knowledge to control plant growth as part of his efforts to take over the world. The villain has come into conflict with Swamp Thing in his quest to control the life force of all plants on Earth known as The Green.
Kevin Durand’s previous credits include Lost, Dark Angel, Legion, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Maria Sten as Liz, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, Jennifer Beals as an original character created for the series, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, and Derek Mears as the titular creature. Aquaman director James Wan will serve as an executive producer on the series alongside Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear, and Len Wiseman. The first episode will be written by Verheiden and Dauberman while Wiseman will direct.
Swamp Thing will be available exclusively on DC Universe in 2019.
