DC Universe released the teaser trailer for Swamp Thing, revealing a new look at the titular creature and Abby Arcane.
DC Universe’s line-up of original programming continues with Swamp Thing and now the streaming service has released the first teaser trailer for the anticipated series. Included in the latest preview is a new look at the Swamp Thing creature and Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane. The teaser also offers fans a hint at the tone for the show and the horror elements that viewers can expect when Swamp Thing debuts.

Warner Bros. Television producers recently cut the original 13-episode order for Swamp Thing to 10 as parent company WarnerMedia reportedly evaluates the future of the DC Universe and plots its larger streaming service.
When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Maria Sten as Liz, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, Jennifer Beals as an original character created for the series, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue, Ian Ziering as Blue Devil, and Derek Mears as the titular creature.
Aquaman director James Wan will serve as an executive producer on the series alongside Mark Verheiden, Gary Dauberman, Michael Clear, and Len Wiseman. The first episode will be written by Verheiden and Dauberman while Wiseman will direct.
Swamp Thing will premiere on May 31, 2019, exclusively on DC Universe.
