Could Sydney Sweeney finally be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? A new rumor indicates the Madame Web actress may have another Marvel role in her future!
Sydney Sweeney recently made her debut in the superhero genre with Madame Web. In the project, Sweeney played Julia Carpenter, one of the three Spider-Woman destined to take down Ezekiel Sims. Sadly, despite the actress’ passion for Marvel, the film was a massive flop and one of the worst-received superhero projects of all time.
Yet it may not be all bad, as a new rumor from MyTimeToShineHello suggests Sydney Sweeney may now be joining the MCU proper. No word was given as to what Marvel character she would play, though that also likely means she would not be reprising her role as Julia Carpenter from Madame Web.
Who Could Sydney Sweeney Play In The MCU?
There’s one obvious role for Sydney Sweeney to play if she’s going to be making her way into the MCU proper. Long before it was announced she would portray a Marvel hero in Madame Web, fans had been casting the actress as the iconic Black Cat. While it would be a cruel twist of irony to have her appear in a Spider-Man film, there’s no denying it’s a great piece of casting.
Though to get away from the obvious, some speculate that Sydney Sweeney could be playing the MCU’s version of Emma Frost. Marvel is likely to make a big push with their mutants in the near future, so it wouldn’t be shocking to see Frost reinvented for the silver screen. Given how badly Madame Web flopped at the box office, Sweeney may also need a reinvention if she’s going to take another superhero role!
