Taika Waititi Says Korg Won’t Find Love In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’

Taika Waititi Korg Thor Love And Thunder

Taika Waititi has revealed that Korg will be one character who will not find love in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Korg was a major part of the Planet Hulk comic book storyline, which Thor: Ragnarok is partially inspired by. Korg ended up being a standout in Ragnarok and returned in Avengers: Endgame. Korg is also voiced by Thor director Taika Waititi and will be back in Love and Thunder.

Many fans are hoping to see more of Korg in Love and Thunder and, given the title, maybe see him find some love. In the comics, Korg is in a relationship with a male gladiator on Sakaar. However, Taika Waititi told fans on a recent Instagram Live Q&A not to expect any love for Korg in Love and Thunder. Here’s what he said during the live stream regarding Korg:

“Deeply in love and lost that love along the line. He doesn’t feel brave enough to find love again.”

Despite Taika Waititi confirming that we won’t see love for Korg in the upcoming Thor sequel, we can expect to see more about his Kronan species.

Full details on the plot for Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder are currently under wraps, though the film will be based, in part, on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, in which Jane Foster becomes the new Thor. Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale.

Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on February 18, 2022. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
