Taika Waititi has debunked a rumor stating that the script for Thor: Love and Thunder has already been finished.
The director took to Twitter to debunk a news story claiming that the script for Thor: Love and Thunder had been completed. Ever since Taika Waititi confirmed he was helming Thor: Love and Thunder at San Diego Comic-Con, the internet has been constantly discussing Natalie Portman’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster. The film is adapting Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor run which sees Jane Foster become Thor, so it’s understandable that fans are eager to hear any news about Thor: Love and Thunder.
Unfortunately, Taika Waititi jokingly confirmed that the story wasn’t true, even updating fans on how little progress he’d made on the script. Since Thor: Love and Thunder has a November 2021 release date it’s unsurprising that the film is only in this stage of production. Since the director is also helming a secret Fox Searchlight project before Thor: Love and Thunder, it will be 2020 before filming begins in Australia and even longer before a trailer is released. Check out Taika Waititi’s tweet below.
Oh that’s cool!! I never cease to surprise me!
