See Taron Egerton Get Iconic Wolverine Look As Hugh Jackman’s Successor

A new Wolverine for the MCU?

Wolverine Taron Egerton Hugh Jackman MCU

A stunning new concept design shows how Wolverine might look in the MCU, with Kingsman star Taron Egerton stepping up to replace Hugh Jackman as the iconic X-Men member.

The X-Men are set to enter the MCU. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw an X-Men character appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time, when Patrick Stewart returned as an alternate universe’s version of Professor X. Could he soon be joined by Taron Egerton?

However, with the MCU’s Earth-616 mutants presumably not too far from making a debut appearance, the question of who could possibly replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has become a pressing one in fan circles.

Recently, Kingsman star Taron Egerton revealed he had been in talks with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige over the role of Wolverine. A new concept design shows Egerton donning Wolverine’s iconic black and yellow mask to step into Hugh Jackman’s shoes.

Taron Egerton Enters The MCU?

With Marvel having already introduced one version of Professor X in the MCU, it’s looking likely it won’t be too long until a full X-Men project is announced. With Taron Egerton clearly interested in the role of Wolverine, an official casting announcement could be on the way.

Taron Egerton might have even picked up a few tips on playing Wolverine from Hugh Jackman, with whom he appeared in the 2016 biopic Eddie the Eagle.

Hugh Jackman is a tough act to follow in the role of Marvel’s most famous mutant, but Taron Egerton certainly has the acting talent – as well as the look, as this new image proves. Check out the concept design by artist “sub.ozil” on Instagram, which shows Egerton in Wolverine’s comic costume:

In the original X-Men movies, Hugh Jackman never got to put on Logan’s classic costume – though it very nearly made a brief cameo in 2013’s The Wolverine. Bringing this look into the MCU would be a sure-fire way to please a lot of Marvel fans and would help set Taron Egerton’s take on the character apart from his predecessor.

Marvel fans can catch the MCU’s first X-Men tease in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Here is the official synopsis:
