Taron Egerton Transforms Into Wolverine To Replace Hugh Jackman In New Image

He's the best there is at what he does...

Taron Egerton Hugh Jackman Wolverine X-Men

With rumors suggesting Taron Egerton could be set to play Wolverine, following Hugh Jackman’s take on the character, a new concept design sees the Kingsman star suiting up for the X-Men role.

Hugh Jackman first appeared as Wolverine all the way back in 2000’s X-Men, before finally bowing out in 2017’s Logan. With Marvel Studios now set to reboot the franchise, fans have speculated that Jackman’s Eddie the Eagle co-star Taron Egerton could be next in line to the claws.

While Taron Egerton has said he hasn’t talked to anyone about playing Wolverine specifically, it is still early days for the MCU’s X-Men reboot and Egerton could well be considered for the role further down the line.

Taron Egerton Steps Into Hugh Jackman’s Shoes

With Taron Egerton emerging as a clear fan favorite for the role of Wolverine, an amazing new concept design shared by artist “clements.ink” on Instagram shows Egerton in Logan’s classic comic book costume.

Hugh Jackman never got to don Wolverine’s classic suit in his appearances as the character – though a deleted scene from The Wolverine confirms he came close – but it seems likely it is a look Marvel Studios will want to explore. The MCU has a proven track record of making comic costumes look great in live action.

Check out the concept design of Taron Egerton as Marvel’s Wolverine below:

Little is currently known of Marvel’s X-Men reboot. Outside of a brief appearance from Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in an alternate reality during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the revelation that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is a mutant in Ms. Marvel, there has been no sign of Marvel’s new mutants.

As the design above proves, when Marvel Studios does get around to deciding on their new X-Men lineup, Taron Egerton would be a worthy successor to Hugh Jackman as the savage Wolverine.
