Taskmaster Adopts ‘Black Panther’ Fighting Style In ‘Black Widow’ Trailer

Taskmaster uses a fighting style from Black Panther in the final Black Widow trailer, even taking cues from T’Challa’s suit to give him an edge.

The final Black Widow trailer saw Taskmaster go up against the dysfunctional family that Natasha Romanoff reconnects with in the time after Captain America: Civil War. Comic readers will know that the villain can perfectly copy his opponent’s moves mid-fight, but it seems like the live-action take on the mercenary will show that he’s mastered a number of different fighting styles. The footage even saw Taskmaster using some of Black Panther’s moves against David Harbour’s Red Guardian.

In a hallway fight scene with Red Guardian, Taskmaster is shown crossing his arms in the same way T’Challa does when shouting the iconic “Wakanda forever!” before unsheathing claws that are embedded into his gloves. It’s not clear whether they’re made of vibranium like T’Challa’s costume, but they still look like they’ll do some damage. Since the film takes place after Black Panther’s debut in Civil War, it makes sense that Taskmaster would learn how to copy him. Take a look at a shot of the villain using Black Panther’s style from the trailer below.
