A new report suggests Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney Plus series She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo, could be in danger.
She-Hulk is one of several upcoming Marvel series that will release on Disney Plus. The show will follow Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) who gains Hulk-like powers of her own following a blood transfusion from her jolly jade cousin. Jennifer Walters is also a lawyer, a career she has continued throughout her time as She-Hulk in the comics, and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has billed She-Hulk as a “half-hour legal comedy.”
So far, Marvel Studios’ output on Disney’s streaming service has generally been well received. WandaVision wowed audiences when it became Marvel Studios’ first series released on Disney Plus and, while heated fan debates continue over which of Marvel’s series reigns supreme, broadly speaking none have failed to impress. However, Puck’s Matthew Belloni is now saying that voices at Marvel are expressing some concern over Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk series.
These early reports that She-Hulk could be “a mess” and may not be saved by MCU staple Mark Ruffalo’s presence are a concerning sign for the Tatiana Maslany led series. However, Marvel still has time to work on the series before it’s release later this year and ultimately these early rumblings will be of little consequence next to the opinions of the fans once the show is released.
She-Hulk stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Jameela Jamil as Titania, and Tim Roth as the Abomination. Ginger Gonzaga and Renee Elise Goldsberry are also part of the cast.
She-Hulk will debut on Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming MCU Disney Plus series, as well as the future of Benedict Wong in the franchise, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
