There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Robert Downey Jr. making his grand return to the MCU as, of all characters, Doctor Doom. It has led many fans to worry about the quality of Avengers: Doomsday – with some fearing that the actor is only coming back to the franchise for the money, and won’t be able to capture the true depths of Doctor Doom.
This has led reporters to ask basically anyone who has ever been in the MCU, regardless of if they’re in Avengers: Doomsday or not, what they think about bringing Robert Downey Jr. back as Doctor Doom. Largely, the reactions from those in front of the camera has been positive, believing that the actor can pull off yet another box office shaking performance.
Tenoch Huerta Praises Robert Downey Jr.
Tenoch Huerta, who is set to reprise his role as Namor in Avengers: Doomsday, is the latest star to give their thoughts on Robert Downey Jr. making his grand return to the MCU. While he admits he never shared a scene with Doctor Doom during the film’s production, he did praise the star’s looks.
“He’s really handsome, dude,” Huerta told El Capi Perez. “The guy looks really young, too. The thing is, I wasn’t in the scene. I went to see the directors, I wanted to talk to them about a few lines and meet them face to face.”
“When I was there, [he] comes up to look at the monitors and I said, ‘Ah, no way!’ I really said, ‘Damn, I left my knee pads back at the hotel, man!'”
While this doesn’t tell fans much about how Robert Downey Jr. performs as Doctor Doom, it does seem as though his fellow Avengers: Doomsday cast members have nothing but positive things to say about him. Here’s to hoping that, before the Multiverse Saga is done, Tenoch Huerta has a chance to properly share the screen with the beloved actor!
