
The science fiction classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for its groundbreaking visual effects created by Industrial Light and Magic as well as non-stop pulse pounding action sequences featuring practical effects. The sequel to James Cameron’s 1984 The Terminator cost a total of $102 million to produce and went on to earn $204 million at the domestic box office. It also won four Academy Awards for its Sound, Visual Effects, Makeup, and Sound Effects Editing.
For the theatrical re-release, the film has been converted to 3D by Cameron himself and will be screening exclusively at AMC Theaters. Details of screenings can be found at terminator2-3d.c
A new trailer for the theatrical re-release featuring the director has also been revealed. “The images feel more real in 3D,” Cameron says. “There’s a lucidity to it. You really feel like you’re there. We’re talking about 25 years later. A lot fans of the movie weren’t even born when it was made so for a lot of people it will just be the thrill of seeing it in a movie theater.”
