I love Tessa Thompson. She stole my heart in Dear White People back in 2014, she enraptured me ever more in last year’s Creed and I’m sure she’s going to charm me once again in next year’s Thor: Ragnarok. Playing Valkyrie in the currently-shooting superhero blockbuster, she’s currently on day 18 of production and, hitting her Instagram account, she decided to tease her sword in the upcoming film, as well as give a few more updates from the set. Hopefully, this is just the beginning.
Here’s her latest Instagram update, where she not only teased the sword, but talked about the physical toll the movie has taken. But at least she’s getting more than a few yuks in the process.
But that’s not all. Yesterday morning, she posted a picture from the 1976 Hindi film Balika Badhu with the caption, “You are not a girl, you are a Sword.” She commented on how she had to get up at 3:40 for work, which suggests she is up very early in the morning to practice her sword fighting skills. Hopefully the film will put those to good use.
Directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt For the Wilderpeople), Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett and Karl Urban. But at the moment, Thompson is the real star of the movie for me. Sorry for any creepiness.
