Tessa Thompson On What Happened To Valkyrie Between ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ & ‘Endgame’

During an interview with the LA Times, Tessa Thompson commented on what happened to Valkyrie between the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Tessa Thompson made her debut as Valkyrie in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok and while she was on board the Asgardian refugee ship that rescued the inhabitants of the destroyed Asgard at the end of the film, her fate was not directly addressed on screen when Thanos and his forces ambushed the vessel in the opening moments of Avengers: Infinity War. Since then, Infinity War co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo have confirmed Valkyrie survived Thanos’ decimation and posters for Endgame revealed the Asgardian warrior will return in the fourth Avengers adventure, but Tessa Thompson offered a humorous response when asked where the character was between the events of both films:

“Sometimes I say she was in the bar. She’s alive though because [“Infinity War” and “Endgame” filmmakers] the Russo brothers have said that, she’s not dead.”

When directly asked if Valkyrie survived Thanos’ decimation in Infinity War, Tessa Thompson replied, “She’s in form.”

Fans will find out how our heroes avenge their fallen comrades and potentially reverse the Infinity War decimation when Endgame hits theaters next week. Are you excited to see Tessa Thompson reprise her role as Valkyrie? Let us know below!

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
