Is Robin officially making his debut in The Batman? Director Matt Reeves reveals they’ve discussed bringing the character into the sequel.
There’s been a lot of things that fans have been hoping to see in the sequel to The Batman. However, there’s been perhaps no element more widely demanded than to see Robin make his long-awaited return to the silver screen in Matt Reeves’ upcoming film. Given how early in Batman’s career the film takes place, seeing him adopt a Robin would be the obvious next step.
While there were a lot of rumors early on that Robin would be a major part of The Batman‘s sequel, much of this was silenced when it was publicly confirmed that Matt Reeves only recently finished the script. This has left more theorists rudderless as they try to find out anything they can about the film ahead of filming early next year.
Is Robin In The Batman Part 2?
Though, with Matt Reeves now speaking more publicly on the sequel, reporters have finally been able to ask him about characters who may make an appearance. And, obviously, the first name on many of those lists in Robin. While Reeves didn’t confirm that the Boy Wonder is in the upcoming film, he did remark that they have “discussed” basically every character in Batman’s universe.
“Well, sure, you talk about everything,” Reeves told Josh Horowitz at the Emmy’s. “There’s probably not any character that we didn’t talk about. ‘What could this be?’ ‘What could that be?’ That’s part of the beginning of anything.”
It’s likely that Matt Reeves won’t confirm or deny that Robin is in The Batman‘s sequel until he absolutely has to. Though, with the film starting production so early next year, it’s likely that the team behind the film is already starting the early stages of the casting process. Perhaps fans might even find out who Robin is by December!
