Fans finally have their first look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps! New videos from the set of the Marvel production reveal iconic locales being built for the reboot.
Ever since it came out that The Fantastic Four: First Steps would be attempting to capture a retro-futurist aesthetic, fans have wondered how Marvel planned to accomplish that feat. The answer seems to come from the first set videos to come out of the reboot, showing large scale practical sets being built to represent the city’s streets.
Fans speculate that the set videos seen above show the construction of Yancy Street in the upcoming reboot, which serves as the home for Ben Grimm. While it’s not confirmed what Marvel is actually building, the landmarks do confirm The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be set in the past, with the now defunct RKO having their own theater in one of the videos.
Marvel’s First Steps Toward The Fantastic Four Reboot
It’s clear that Marvel is putting a lot of care into their upcoming reboot of The Fantastic Four. Set videos aside, the name itself is a carefully layered pun that reveals a lot about the film. Most people realize that The Fantastic Four: First Steps seems to be a reference to the “first steps” man took on the moon, serving as a nod to the team’s comic origins.
However, The Fantastic Four: First Steps may also hint that the super team’s couple in Reed Richards and Sue Storm might have a kid in the movie. After all, what’s more associated with first steps than a child? Marvel may also be making a cheeky nod that this reboot will end with the team’s “first steps” into the MCU, especially as it’s almost confirmed to take place outside of Marvel’s main timeline.
The Fantastic Four opens on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
