The Flash is set to race into theaters in just over a week. A brand new international poster for the film shows Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen distorting reality alongside Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman.
The Flash may be a story about Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen, but no story is complete without allies to help heroes find their footing. A brand new poster for the film highlights Barry’s biggest allies in taking down General Zod: Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. The three skate across a beautiful streaking background with a small cameo by the Batwing.

While the poster shows Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen shooting for the stars, The Flash seems to be landing a little lower with critics. The first Rotten Tomatoes reviews for the film place it at a 72%. This likely means The Flash is a solid film, barely missing the top 5 highest rated DC projects on the site, but misses the lofty praise given by the earliest of reviewers. Only time will tell if Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman will rise with Barry to the top, or sink back down to be yet another bump in DC’s rocky past.
The Flash’s DC Universe future
Warner Bros. Discovery already has a script for a potential sequel to The Flash, written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the man behind the two Aquaman movies starring Jason Momoa. However, James Gunn and Peter Safran did not discuss the Flash sequel during their DC Universe presentation.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.
In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.
