Past Speedsters Set To Return For 100th Episode Of ‘The Flash’

The Flash Zoom Savitar Reverse Flash CW

When you have a television series that manages to make it to 100 episodes- hard to do when many networks are very cancel happy nowadays- it feels like a momentous occasion. Not only are you at that sweet point of syndication, but you want something to celebrate making it this far. Within the world of the Arrowverse on the CW, when Arrow reached its 100th episode, which happened to take place during the Invasion crossover, it did so in a way very emblematic of the Batman: The Animated Series episode “Perchance to Dream.” But what about The Flash?

The second of the Arrowverse programs is on the cusp of its 100th episode and what better way to celebrate the occasion…than by bringing back some of Barry Allen’s most dangerous foes? At MCM Comic Con in London recently, actor Tony Todd, who provided the voice of Zoom on The Flash, revealed that he had just finished work on the 100th episode of the series. More than that, he won’t be the only speedster set to make a return. He didn’t name names, but there were Todd’s words:

“They are all returning, all the speedster villains, and they all want a piece of Barry.”

All the speedster villains on The Flash want a piece of Barry? And on the 100th episode? Well, going off of who has appeared, that would include not just Zoom, but Reverse-Flash, Trajectory, and Savitar. Now we do know that Eobard Thawne’s Reverse-Flash is still alive and well, as we saw him escape in the climax of the Crisis on Earth-X crossover. So he’s still running around out there somewhere. What about Hunter Zolomon, though? Last we saw him, he’d been shattered to pieces by Killer Frost.

With this being the 100th episode of The Flash, and given how much trouble other speedsters have given Team Flash, what better way to create an even bigger headache- compounded by the arrival of Barry and Iris’ future daughter- than bringing them all back together, maybe as a little Legion of Speedsters. Hey, there’s no more Legion of Doom on Legends of Tomorrow, so there’s gotta be a Legion somewhere on this Earth since Supergirl has the Legion of Super Heroes.

What do you think about the return of past speedsters for The Flash? And what hopes do you have for the series’ 100th episode? Let us know in the comments below.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Hartley Sawyer and Jessica Parker Kennedy. The series airs on Tuesday nights at 8 P.M. on The CW.
