The Flash star Ezra Miller has been in hot water in recent years due to a number of controversial actions. Following the release of the film, they have spoken out about the “unjust” harassment claims levied against them.
Ezra Miller has spoken out about a temporary harassment order placed on them last June by a mother who claimed Miller was behaving inappropriately with their child, who was 12 years old at the time. The judge from the case allowed the order to expire just before the release of The Flash, leading Miller to speak out against the “misuse” of the protective order by the family as well as the inaccurate reporting of the media.
“I’m encouraged by today’s outcome and very grateful at this moment to everyone who has stood by me and sought to ensure this egregious misuses of the protective order system was halted,” Miller explained in a statement posted to their Instagram. “Protective orders are meant to provide safety for individuals, families and children who are in danger. They are not meant to be used as weapons by those seeking attention or fleeting tabloid fame or some sort of personal vengeance when there are people in true and dire need of these services.”
“I have been unjustly and directly targeted by an individual who the facts have shown has a history of such manipulative and destructive actions,” They continued. “I implore those members of the media who have recklessly spread false claims and failed to accurately report the truth and context of this story, to hold themselves to a higher standard and take the time to find the facts, rather than chasing clicks.”
Marlow Stern, who wrote the original article for The Daily Beast discussing the protection order against The Flash star, has responded to Ezra Miller’s post claiming, in less than polite terms, that the contents of the statement are inaccurate:
The Flash’s DC Universe future
Warner Bros. Discovery already has a script for a potential sequel to The Flash, written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, the man behind the two Aquaman movies starring Jason Momoa. However, James Gunn and Peter Safran did not discuss the Flash sequel during their DC Universe presentation.
Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.
In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
