The Rotten Tomatoes score for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has been revealed.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is now available on the Disney Plus streaming service, serving as an epilogue to the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Clocking in at just under 45 minutes, James Gunn’s new Marvel project is also doing well with critics, as its Rotten Tomatoes score stands at 91 percent, based on 22 reviews from Tomato-approved writers.
The official Rotten Tomatoes critics consensus of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special reads: “More of a stocking stuffer than a fully-rounded parcel, this yuletide excursion is a delightful showcase for Drax, Mantis, and a very game Kevin Bacon.”
The Guardians are back
Set after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special sees Drax (Dave Bautista) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) attempting to cheer up their leader Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) by kidnapping his childhood hero Kevin Bacon. The project marks the MCU debut of Bacon and also introduces audiences to Cosmo the Spacedog, a new addition to the Guardians.
In addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe holiday special, James Gunn is also directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Currently slated to hit theaters on May 5, 2023, Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji.
