Recent rumors hinted that The Idol star and K-Pop singer Jennie Kim would appear as Luna Snow in an Agents of Atlas series in the MCU. However, her agency seems to have shut down any speculation.
Jennie Kim recently made the jump from singing with her K-Pop group Blackpink to acting, following her casting in The Idol on HBO. A new rumor states that Jim would continue her transition to acting as the Marvel character Luna Snow, who’s a K-Pop star best known for her role in the Agents of Atlas series. While certainly a perfect fit for the actress, her agency clarifies that these rumors don’t have much of a basis:
“Jennie has never received an offer to appear in the Marvel series Team Agents of Atlas,” her agency tells the Korean news outlet Naver.
Rumors about an Agents of Atlas series have been floating around ever since Randall Park’s role as Jimmy Woo in WandaVision endeared the character in the hearts of fans. Given Jimmy Woo often leads the team in the comics, a series based on the team would be a great excuse to put Park in the spotlight.
The agency’s comment also doesn’t shut down all speculation. It’s possible Jennie Kim is being eyed for a role in an Agents of Atlas project but simply hasn’t been asked. It’s also possible Kim would be playing Luna Snow in a different project before Agents of Atlas such as a potential Shang-Chi sequel, who’s another character closely tied to the team. Only time will tell if Luna Snow will make her MCU debut anytime soon or if she’ll even be played by Kim.
